As a school, we would like to give back to the local community by donating items to a local charity. The Storehouse in Melton Mowbray has been offering students an opportunity to do work placement in their premises over the last few years and as a school, we have decided to participate in collecting for the storehouse as a way to thank them for this. We are asking students if they could donate three items of food/ household items, which can then be put into a collection in time for Christmas. Below is a list of agreed items, if you are able to participate then please send into school by Monday 5th December. Please ensure the date on the food item has at least 3 months on, so that the Storehouse has ample time to deliver to local families.
Items most in need:
Tinned meat products, tinned fruit, toilet paper and vegan/vegetarian food please.
Tinned custard/rice pudding/ Tinned fish
Tinned spaghetti/macaroni cheese
Tinned potatoes/instant mash
Tinned vegetables/tinned tomatoes/Instant Noodles/Jam
Male & female deodorants/shampoo/conditioner/shower gel
Laundry detergent
Sachets or tins of dog & cat food for pets
You can gift as little or as much as you like, all donations are highly appreciated as all things received will go to local families in Melton Borough who are in need of support, but we are aware that times are tight so this is purely voluntary. We are collecting across both sites and each office will store the items, which will be sorted and arranged by Post 16 students. We hope you can join us in supporting this wonderful local charity.
