World Down Syndrome Day

World Down Syndrome Day (WDSD), 21 March, is a global awareness day which has been officially observed by the United Nations since 2012.

It provides the opportunity for everyone to have a bit of fun whilst raising awareness of Down Syndrome, promoting inclusion and raising much needed funds.

All you need to do is choose some socks that are going to get noticed – they might be mismatched socks or your craziest and most colourful socks, whatever takes your fancy! The idea is to start a conversation, so when people ask you about your socks you can tell them, “I’m wearing them to raise awareness of Down syndrome”.

We would love for students to come to school wearing odd/mismatched/crazy/colourful socks on Monday 21st March and to send in a voluntary contribution of £1 to raise funds to support the Down Syndrome Association.

Put the date on your calendar and we can’t wait to see your amazing socks on the day!
