Secondary COVID Testing – 22nd March

Most secondary age students at Birch Wood have now moved to twice weekly rapid COVID19 testing at home. If you have given consent to test at home your child will receive 2 packs of 3 tests later this week. These tests are to be administered in line with all previous advice and guidance and will now cover them over the holiday period and into the start of next term.

This does not replace symptomatic testing. If children, or anyone in the household, have symptoms, they and the rest of the household should self- isolate immediately, book a PCR test and follow national guidelines on self-isolation and testing.

Reporting results
It is really important that results of the test are reported online straight away, even if the result is negative or void. It is easy to do at www.gov.uk/report-covid19-result
Results can also be reported via telephone by calling 119 (free from mobiles and landlines).
Lines are open every day, 07:00 to 23:00.

It is important to keep a note of your child’s results and share all results with the school via

Please follow up a positive
result with a phone call to the school office during school hours.

We continue to encourage everyone to take part in regular Covid-19 testing.

Thank you for your continued support.
