Students from Birch Wood College visited Melton Fire Station as part of their ASDAN studies. During the visit, they were given the opportunity to tour the fire station and the fire engines and to handle some of the equipment. 🚒
The students asked thoughtful questions about how the Fire Service supports the local community, as well as the training and skills required to become a firefighter. 👩🏻🚒👨🏼🚒

This week, our students at Birch Wood College had the exciting opportunity to take part in a virtual STEM workshop led by Archie from ImmersiveMaths.com. The session was an inspiring blend of creativity, exploration, and hands-on learning that left a lasting impression on everyone involved.
His enthusiasm, creativity, and hands-on approach made the session truly memorable. The students were fully engaged throughout – learning, exploring, and clearly enjoying every moment. It was wonderful to see so many happy, smiling faces as they immersed themselves in the world of space exploration.
From an educational perspective, the workshop gave students a fantastic opportunity to deepen their understanding of the solar system, NASA’s innovations, and the engineering behind technologies such as the Canadian Arm and solar panels. One of the highlights was a practical challenge in which pupils designed and built their own robotic arm using cardboard and pins. This activity encouraged problem-solving, teamwork, and the application of engineering principles in a fun and accessible way.
Archie’s passion for STEM shone through every element of the workshop, helping spark curiosity, build confidence, and inspire our young learners to think like engineers and scientists.
We would like to extend a heartfelt thank-you to Archie and ImmersiveMaths.com for providing such a high-quality learning experience. We look forward to welcoming him back. … See MoreSee Less
