The Birch Wood 10, organised by Birch Wood Area Special School, is a new event for the Melton Mowbray area that aims to raise money for the school and bring the local community together.
The event was created, in part, as a response to Covid-19 and provides a chance for us (at long last) to come together to celebrate our wonderful school with members of our local community.
The day will see runners and walkers take on a scenic out-and-back course on Sunday 25th September 2022 at 10:00am.
The run is 10 miles long and begins at our school before quickly winding its way out into beautiful countryside on a mixture of tarmac and gravel paths/roads. At the halfway mark runners/walkers will turn-around and head back to the finish line where the Family Fun Day will be in full swing.
You’ll have access to toilets, bag drop and water within close proximity of the start/finish line. There will be a water station on the course. We do also have dedicated parking within close walking distance in place but urge everyone to car share where possible to minimise pressure on race day.
Upon completion of the course, you will be given a unique medal designed by the young people at Birch Wood before you’re able to enjoy the activities and attractions at our Family Fun Day.
